Pumpkin carving 2008
So this is my first posting! Yes I know it's a long time coming for all of you who have been telling me to get with it. I was a little intimidated at the prospect, but after taking Angela's suggestion and just sitting down with it for a few hours I think i'm beginning to understand it. I love reading everyone else's blogs, so I hope I can keep up with mine and at least make it interesting!
Lynn has to travel to New Jersey this week so last night was the only night we could carve pumpkins before Halloween. Out here most towns trick or treat on the 30th and when I ask why the only answer I get is that it cuts down on pranks....whatever that means! So anyways Lynn will have to miss trick or treating because he didn't know when he booked his trip that they did that out here, so needless to say he was a little upset. The city of Portsmouth has a Halloween parade on Halloween that I think we are going to try and go to.
So most of our pumpkins were pretty traditional except for Amanda's who had to carve Jack from the Nightmare before Christmas. She painted it white and then had the black outline of his eyes, nose and mouth. I thoughy it was a little creepy, but Amanda likes things like that.
